Reenactment groups all across the country engage in bringing us "living history" of all the famous events in American History, from the Revolutionary War of 1776 to the War Between The States, to the War of 1812, Mexican/American War and the Spanish American War. The War between The States is well represented on both sides, North & South. All the major battles are relived year-after-year since this war was the bloodiest of all American wars. Over six hundred thousand Americans died, and over two million were wounded during the four year conflict. Although the Confederacy was out manned, out gunned and out produced by the Union, our ancestors still put up a strong defense of the Southern Homeland. Locally, here in Alabama, the Battle of Mobile Bay, Fort Morgan and the  Battle of Fort Blakeley were amongst the last battles of the war.
